General Instructions

Dress Code for Santa Claus Parades
  • Full dress uniform will be worn for all Parades including Shakos and Plumes
  • In the event of wet weather, remove your plume and store it in the Van following the Corps
  • Warm black gloves should be worn by all
  • Heavy black winter type shoes should be worn. Please make sure they are clean and polished
  • NO Corps jackets are to be worn over a uniform while on Parade.

Saturday, November 24th Markham & Fenelon Falls Parades (added Nov 20th)
  • arrive at the Markham Museum Parking Lot by 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM Bus departure. The Markham Museum is located at 9350 Hwy 48 which is at the corner of Main St/Hwy 48 and 16th Ave. on the west side. 16th Ave. is approximately 2 km north of Hwy 7.

  • the Bus will leave at 9:00 AM and deliver the Corps to the Parade Assembly Area, which is Hwy 7 east from Main St. and running for the next couple of blocks.

  • the Parade runs straight north on Main St./Hwy 48, much shorter than last year. According to their map, the dispersal area for Bands should be slightly south of 16th Ave. where the Bus will be waiting at the Museum Parking Lot. Once everyone who is traveling by Bus is loaded on board, the Bus will depart for the Fenelon Falls Legion where the Corps will stop for lunch.

  • by 4:30 PM everyone is required to be in full uniform, in position around the corner in front of Home Hardware ready for warm-up. The Bus will have already left to position itself at the end of the Parade before the road closures take place.

  • be advised that once the Parade is over, the Bus will depart as soon as traffic permits to return to the Markham Museum Parking Lot.

  • as the Bus will be arriving at 8:45 in the morning, the Bus has to complete its round trip by 8:45 in the evening. This has nothing to do with trying to save money, it is necessary to comply with the Highway Code. The driver is not permitted to log more than 12 consecutive hours on the road.

  • the Corps Director has appointed Paul Thompson as Show Coordinator for the day. He has complete authority and will resolve any issues and render any decisions that may become necessary.

Sunday, November 25th (Milton Santa Claus Parade)
  • Everyone is requested to proceed to one location and park at the E.C.Drury High School Parking lot on the east side of Ontario St./Hwy 25. It is north of Derry Rd and just south of Main St.  When entering the School  property, veer left for the Parking lot. Kindly plan to arrive no later than 12:45 PM.

  • Driving instructions from Toronto are as follows: 401 to Hwy 25 exit. Turn south (left), at the third Light turn left again onto Steeles Ave. Turn right at the next light onto Ontario St./Hwy 25, pass the Milton Mall at the corner of Main St. Continue past the Mall on Ontario St. and the School should be the next property on the left.

  • Driving instructions from Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, etc:  From the QEW take Bronte Rd. north to Derry. Proceed east on Derry to Ontario St./Hwy 25 then proceed north to the School on your right.

  • A Bus will pick us up at the Parking Lot at 1:00 PM. The Bus will proceed south on Ontario/Hwy 25, west on Derry Rd and north about two blocks on Bronte where the Corps will report in at the Ram Lighting Parking Lot. We are Parade entry No. 16. The Parade route is north on Bronte to Main St., then east on Main to Ontario St./Hwy 25 then continues for one block past the Mall and disperses. Everyone can then walk through the Mall parking lot and exit on Ontario St. where the School parking lot is about one block south.

Saturday, December 1st (Etobicoke Santa Claus Parade)
  • TIME: 8:45 AM in uniform with instruments, ready to board the Bus.
  • LOCATION: "No Frills" Parking Lot, northeast corner of Lakeshore Blvd. and Brown's Line.
  • The Bus will leave by no later than 9:00 AM and transport the Corps east to Islington, north to Birmingham, then east to Second St. where everyone can go inside the Second St. School, as we did last year.
  • The Parade will line up on Dwight Ave. and back along Birmingham. The start time is 10:00 AM. The Parade will proceed west along Lakeshore and ends at the Castrol Oil Parking Lot at 37th St. The "No Frills" Parking Lot is a further 2-3 bocks west of the end of the Parade, which was the closest Parking Lot available near the end of the Parade.
